THE NEWSPAPER LA VANGUARDIA IS FORCED TO RECTIFY BY THE SPANISH JUSTICE FOR GIVING A FALSE NEWS ABOUT JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES.
Correction of the news item “The testimony of a young woman who managed to leave the Jehovah's Witnesses”

Based on a ruling of the 10th Provincial High Court of Madrid, Jehovah's Witnesses point out the following:
The La Vanguardia article entitled "The testimony of a young woman who managed to leave the Jehovah's Witnesses: 'No one around me could talk to me'”, published on March 17, included several inaccurate statements about Jehovah's Witnesses.
It was stated that being expelled from the Jehovah's Witnesses means that no one from the person's environment, not even his family, can speak to him again. Expulsion is also described as a very harsh punishment. However, the reality of expulsion is very different:
The decision to become a Jehovah's Witness is completely voluntary and is conditioned on the person fulfilling the basic moral values set forth in the Bible. When a baptized Witness commits a serious wrong, he may be expelled from the congregation. However, this is not an automatic process. Only if the person adopts the habit of violating the moral code of the Scriptures and does not repent, then he will be expelled, in accordance with what the Bible states in Corinthians 5:13. When that happens, the person's spiritual relationship with other Jehovah's Witnesses changes, but the family ties remain. The relationship of an expelled person with his spouse, as well as the normal affectionate treatment between parents and children, continues as usual.
In addition, those who have been expelled can attend our religious services and, if they wish, receive the spiritual help provided by the elders (or pastors) of the congregation. Those expelled who reject immoral behavior and sincerely demonstrate that they wish to live in conformity with biblical principles can become part of the congregation again.
