Your Honor! At all times, people have believed in God and will continue to believe. Why is it so important to believe in God? Because it depends on how much you will be a spiritual and moral person and how clean your conscience will be. But how can you maintain your spirituality if you don't read the Bible? After all, the Bible is a letter from our loving Father, who assures us of his love, comforts, encourages, instructs and gives us his guidance. For example, this is what is written in the Bible: "I am the Lord your God, teaching you useful things, leading you in the way that you should walk" (Isaiah 48:17).


Therefore, it is so important to read it and try to apply what is written in it so as not to morally degrade, but to show good qualities such as honesty, justice, kindness, mercy and wisdom, which God likes so much. Your Honor, you will agree that those who develop such qualities benefit society. The world would be a much better place if people applied the advice from the Bible. God is driven by love for people, because he wants no one to die, but everyone to come to an accurate knowledge of the truth. Why does he encourage us not to be silent, but to say what we have learned from the Bible? Because those who obey God will be saved.…


Your Honor, the article I'm being accused of is related to extremism. During the time that I have been studying the Bible — and this has been 20 years — I have learned to observe not only the well-known commandment "love your neighbor as yourself", but also others: "do not repay evil for evil to anyone" and "do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good" (Romans 14: 17, 21). Extremism in any of its disgusting forms is alien to me. This means that not only have I never engaged in extremist activities, but I have never even had a motive for hostility or hatred in my thoughts.


Your Honor, any punishment implies correction. For example, part 2 of Article 43 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation states: "Punishment is applied in order to restore social justice, as well as to correct the convicted person and prevent the commission of new crimes." My question is: what do I need to improve on? Are you saying that I should stop reading the Bible and share what I've learned with others? But how is this possible? Article 28 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation guarantees me the right to read the Bible and share with others what I have learned from it. I am very sad and sad that the prosecution has equated me, Khalgaeva Tsagan Borisovna, with extremism.


Your Honor, whatever the verdict, my attitude towards those present in the hall and to all people in general will remain unchanged, because I love God. I am determined to continue to act in accordance with what my Creator expects of me. I ask for an acquittal against me.
