Transcript of the court session in Pervomaisky district Court of Izhevsk dated 04/22/2024 on the case 1-7/2024 (1-18/2023; 1-233/2022) on the charges of Kutin Alexander Georgievich and others. of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Kutin Alexander Georgievich:
Dear participants of the process! I would like to express my gratitude to the court, the Public prosecutor, the secretary and the lawyers for their patience and respect in this unusual process.
My beliefs have always been exclusively peaceful, so there are no victims or victims in the case. Humiliation of human dignity, undermining the foundations of the constitutional order, and incitement to religious or racial discord are unacceptable to me. And the prosecution has not provided a single piece of evidence to the contrary during the entire trial!
The authorities of the Russian Federation emphasized that the decision of the Supreme Court of 20.04.2017 and the appeal ruling of the Appellate Board of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation of 17.07.2017 "they do not assess the doctrine of Jehovah's Witnesses, do not contain restrictions or prohibitions on professing the above-mentioned doctrine individually."
The Apostle Paul, in Hebrews 10:25, gave a command to Christians: "Let us not leave our assembly, as is the custom of some; but let us exhort one another, and the more so, the more you see the approach of that day." Therefore, Jehovah's Witnesses come together to worship God, study the Bible together, pray, communicate, and encourage each other. And this is not a crime!
People, stars, and even pets have names. God also has a name, Jehovah (Exodus, chapter 33, verse 19; chapter 34, verse 5). It was his name that Jesus Christ called to sanctify in the well-known prayer "Our Father" and encouraged him to read the Holy Scriptures.
In the 150 years since the appearance of the Synodal Translation of the Bible, the Russian language has changed significantly, and many words and their meaning are completely incomprehensible to the modern reader. The Bible has been translated in whole or in part into more than 3,000 languages. Thanks to her, people can get answers to their questions, learn about God and about the wonderful future that he has prepared for all mankind. Therefore, using various modern translations of the Bible is not a crime, but a logical opportunity to read and understand what is written. And without understanding, it is impossible to act — to "encourage love and good deeds" for the benefit of people and society as a whole. Reading a modern, understandable translation of the Bible is like changing from an old and unreliable car to a modern, comfortable, reliable and safe car.
During the preliminary investigation, when my neighbor Aunt Olya asked, "Why are you being persecuted?" the investigator replied that I was a Jehovah's Witness. It turns out that a criminal case was initiated and brought to court for the sole purpose of prohibiting me from practicing my religion, which is not prohibited by law, and living as it is written in the Bible.
Dear court, I ask you, in the absence of an event and corpus delicti, to make a fair decision — an acquittal, and attach the last word to the case file.
