Profiles

Boris Andreyev

Born: 1951 (Monastyrishche, Primorye Territory)

Biography: Worked as a dispatch agent for emergency services

Having his questions answered directly from the Bible convinced him he had found the truth. Baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 2004

Married Aleksandra in 2020

Personal Comments From Boris’ Wife, Aleksandra

How has your husband helped you to endure this challenging time?

I remember one particularly difficult day after Boris had been detained. I felt emotionally crushed, and I broke down in tears. I described in a letter to Boris what had happened and how I felt. In his reply, he expressed understanding and sympathy. But most important, he reminded me of all the difficulties we had faced and overcome in the past with Jehovah’s help. That was exactly what I needed, and it convinced me even more that Jehovah will never abandon us.

Anatoliy Li

Born: 1985 (Uzbekistan)

Biography: Attended various churches but had many unanswered questions. Began to study with Jehovah’s Witnesses and was happy to learn the truth from the Bible. Baptized in 2010

Married Raisa in 2011

Personal Comments From Anatoliy’s Wife, Raisa

How have you and your husband felt Jehovah’s support?

Not long after he was put in the pretrial detention center, Anatoliy told me how hard it was for him to think about me being on my own. Before his arrest, we spent every day together in spiritual activities. But his worry has subsided after learning how Jehovah, through our brotherhood, is providing me with everything I need. We have both seen that Jehovah truly cares about us and will never abandon us.

Nataliya Sharapova

Born: 1972 (Kazakhstan)

Biography: Met Witnesses in 1995 and accepted a Bible study. Became convinced that the Bible is God’s Word. Baptized in 2012

Personal Comments From Nataliya’s Mother, Nina

What is helping Nataliya remain positive while in the pretrial detention center?

My daughter faces various difficulties in the detention center. It is very cold there. She also suffers from frequent headaches. While she does get discouraged at times, she is confident that Jehovah has everything under control. She says: “I know I will not stay here forever. Jehovah gives me patience, and I am ready to wait.” The difficulties have brought Nataliya even closer to Jehovah. It is as if she is in the embrace of his arms.

As He has for Anatoliy, Boris, and Nataliya, we are confident that Jehovah will continue to answer us in our days of distress and provide us with the strength to endure.—Psalm 20:1.
