Biography


Valeriy Baylo, a pensioner from the Krasnodar Territory, faced persecution for his faith in the spring of 2024. His house was searched, after which the believer ended up in a pre-trial detention center.


Valeriy was born in November 1957 in the village of Railyanka, Odessa region of Ukraine. All his life he worked in the system of the Federal Penitentiary Service as an engineer for the organization of labor of prisoners. For some time, Valeriy and his family lived in the North.


In the spring of 2001, Valeriy and his wife began to study the Bible. They were struck by the detailed Bible prophecies and the scientific facts mentioned in this book. Three months later, the couple became Jehovah's Witnesses.


In the 1990s, due to the loss of all savings as a result of default, Valeriy and his family had to start life anew. Later, his wife fell ill and died, and a man with three children was forced to live for seven years in an uninhabited building without electricity and water. In recent years, Valeriy lived in the Krasnodar Territory, his adult sons and daughter live separately.


According to the believer, there were many difficulties in his life, but faith in God always supported him. Despite the criminal prosecution, Valeriy tries to remain calm. "Now we are defending Jehovah, but soon he will stand up for us!" he said.

In March 2024, a criminal case was initiated against Valeriy Baylo under the article on participation in the activities of an extremist organization. A few days later, the man was summoned to the Investigative Committee for questioning, after which his home was searched and he was placed in a pre-trial detention center.
