The last word of the defendant Leonid Rysikov in Surgut

 November 10, 2023

 Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug

In his last word, the defendant said that he felt calm, regardless of what the court verdict would be, and also thanked his fellow believers for their support.

Transcript of the court hearing in the Surgut City Court dated November 10, 2023 in case No. 1-27/2023 (1-130/2022; 1-1348/2021) on charges of Leonid Nikitievich Rysikov and others of committing a crime under Part 1 of Art.  .  282.2 and part 1 of Art.  282.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

 Rysikov Leonid Nikitievich:

Your Honor!  I want to express my gratitude to you, as well as to all the lawyers.  Special thanks to you, dear comrades, for your support and encouragement!

In the book of Job, chapter 12, verse 10, it says: “Every soul [that is, life] is in the hands of God, and the spirit of all human flesh.”  Understanding this gives me peace of mind no matter what the court's decision, because I am in the most reliable hands, in the hands of Jehovah.

In Psalm 2, verse 10, Jehovah speaks to everyone on whom my well-being and the well-being of my companions depends.  He says: “Wherefore, O kings [or rulers], act with understanding, and judges, correct [or judge fairly].”

Your Honor!  Whatever sentence you pass - even the most severe, albeit unfair - I and my comrades will still remain happy people!  Why?  Psalm 2, verse 12, part b, says: “Happy are all who take refuge in Jehovah!”
