Biography

Pensioner Pavel Brilkov, who had previously been a witness in the case of Andrei Vlasov, was himself accused of extremism because of his beliefs in the spring of 2023.

Pavel was born in 1958 in the city of Prokopyevsk, grew up here and lives all his life. After graduating from school, he worked as a molder of reinforced concrete products.

In 2019, Paul began to study the Bible. He heard a lot about this book from his mother-in-law, whom he respected and loved. “When I learned what the Kingdom of God would do for people and for me, I wanted to live according to Jehovah’s standards,” the believer recalls.

In 2001, Pavel met Vera, and they later got married. Together they run the household and garden. In his free time, Pavel likes to be outdoors and go to the forest.

Criminal prosecution affected the health of Pavel and Vera. Relatives sympathize with them, interested in what is happening.

Brief history of the case

Pavel Brilkov, a Jehovah's Witness from Prokopyevsk, faced persecution for his faith back in 2020 - then he was brought in as a witness in the case of Andrei Vlasov. In the fall of 2021, a search was carried out in the house of Pavel and his wife, followed by interrogation. In May 2022, the Investigative Committee opened a new criminal case, in which Pavel became a defendant 10 months later. According to the investigator, Brilkov is guilty of extremism, since he “explained the essence of excerpts from the Holy Scriptures.” In May 2023, the district court began hearings in the believer’s case.
